Mr.
Manuel Malaquias, is
a Portuguese Ph.D. candidate student at
the Natural History
Museum, London. He specializes on shelled opistobranchs,
and is currentely undertaking a project that
aims to revise the systematics of the
family Bullidae
and to understand the patterns of biogeography
of these molluscs at a global scale. He is also
a participant at the Fauna Iberica Project where
he is in charge of the bullomorph gastropods
and is a member of the Directive Board of the
Portuguese Malacological Institute (IPM). Here
in Panglao,
he is working with a team who is tasked to
study
the opistobranch
molluscs; collaborating in the collecting, sorting,
identification, photography, preservation,
